Beware this office is not honest.I paid for the extra protection plan if they made any mistakes on my taxes, well they did, cost my 5K and lied and to proctect themselfs .The plan is worhtless as is the office and the people running it.If you dont care if your taxes are screwed up and have money to trow away this is your place to go.My advice is run far far far away from this place.

  • I had exceptionally difficult tax issues that this branch, this particular branch resolved quickly, efficiently and gave me better advise than an IRS employee. I am the beneficiary of a trust fund, four years ago I received a letter from the IRS stating that owed somewhere around 20 plus thousand dollars in back taxes and fees. I went to the IRS office in the Federal building in Fort Worth and was told I had been a minor and that the fund manager would have paid taxes quarterly and since I had no income I owed nothing this time around. Past what the fund manager would have paid. I assumed that was that. But I received another letter informing me of the back taxes and fees. So I went to the H&R Block with my year end statements and the lady there filed every year' back taxes and told me how to amend my mother's tax return, because I am disabled I had the option to be a dependent in a year she had dropped me. I do not have medicaid or a check, I had the trust fund and did not want to take up those resources. They explained to me exactly what did and did not qualify for this and told me that if I were audited I would need to send proof to the IRS. I have never been audited. My mother, who does her own taxes has been audited and nothing changed after the audit because she could independently verify everything on her tax return. While I cannot speak to how this H&R Block acts during an audit, as I have not been audited I can tell you that they asked questions about different deductions and told me what proof I would need if the IRS asked for it. The preparer did not require I submit audit proof verification, I did not know where my 1099 from college was but gathered what expenses I could prove and gave them a number. I did not choose to maximize my refund as I also did not have my charity receipts except from my church and I personally did not want to use my tithes, these were personal choices. I can actually do my own taxes now and do my mother's but I choose to go to this H&R Block, I took their basic preparer course at Midlothian, I do not work there currently,my disablity made completing the course impossible. I have dealt with three ladies there, they were professional, kind, and courteous. I can only talk about my experience and this particular branch, they have franchises and corporate owned locations so assume some variance from location to location. I am a finance student in my sophomore year with a 3.8 GPA, I do my mother's taxes and help various friends and family with book keeping and finance. I would recommend this H&R Block to anyone.
